Hello There! My Name is Jarris Vonzombie.

  • THE ARTIST

    Let me take you on a journey through my creative world. I began my professional art adventure back in the early 1990s, when I was living in Hollywood, California. My first step was as a production assistant in the film, television, and music video industry, which opened doors into the art department and later, as an assistant prop master. I even got a taste of the sound department, holding the boom mic on a few productions. Those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for the artistry involved behind the scenes and fueled my love for the creative process. 

    My passion for fine art grew alongside these experiences. I dove into acrylic painting and digital art—both of which naturally led me to explore graphic design. These creative skills eventually paved the way for my journey into tattoo art. My fascination with tattooing began when I got my first ink on Venice Beach's boardwalk. That was just the beginning. 

MORE ABOUT ME

  • In 2005, I opened my own tattoo studio, and by 2008, I was officially tattooing and body piercing. My journey to becoming a full-time tattoo artist in 2013 was anything but traditional. Without a formal apprenticeship, I learned directly from the talented artists I worked with and by studying the techniques of renowned tattoo masters like Csaba Müllner and Guy Aitchison through distance learning programs. What excites me most about tattooing is the challenge—the human skin is a living, unpredictable canvas, and every tattoo must be executed flawlessly. I love that challenge.

     In my tattoo work, I specialize in both greyscale and color-saturated designs, with a particular focus on cover-ups for unwanted tattoos. My style is centered around Realism—portraits, figurative pieces, wildlife, still life, and landscapes are where my passion truly shines. 

    These days, I spend my time creating abstract realism, posterized stencil, pop art, lowbrow influenced acrylic paintings that are full of color or created in monochromatic grayscale. I either feel like making a mess in my art studio with fine art traditional materials such as painting palette knives and brushes, or I keep it simple, quick, and clean using my iPad tablet and the Procreate app to produce illustrations, digital paintings, and concept art. I do not have a known "style" as of yet, so my artworks are random and varied expressions of what I'm learning or have learned. 

  • My collections of artwork are available as signed originals on canvas, giclee prints, hand embellished giclee prints, and signed limited edition prints. My artworks are an extension of the love I have for capturing the vivid details of my imagination and at times, life in general.
